They had a few hiccups trying to stop the train carriage, but their ground support crew was waiting at the exact place they stopped. I guess it doesn’t matter now that the disease is airborne. *what was the point of his plan though? They destroyed the last hope of civilisation just to stick it to the rich people and WCKD. He had such great makeup and VFX done on him for like 5 minutes of screen time. I have a lot more nitpicks haha but my phone won’t let me write em all lol. But the cure, once discovered, meant nothing. Seems like it was just a plot device used to extract more emotional pull from Dylan’s response to newts death, and to set up Teresa’s last-minute death and final showdown with the big bad. (Granted I’m 100 % aware that this could have been an issue addressed in the first two movies)Īlso, why the plot line of the blood cure in the first place? The immune wake up on a deserted island with no clear intention of curing anyone else. It seems like in these scenarios in other films, blood is the first thing they test. One thing I didn’t understand is that if Dylan O’Brien’s blood was a cure, why didn’t they find out earlier. All in all though would recommend for being an entertaining film. I thought Teresa’s death was silly but typical of a dramatic YA film with the slow mo. I wasn’t particularly invested in any of the characters other than Newt. But I actually thought the movie was pretty exciting in terms of its action and visuals. I’ve never read the books or even watched the first two movies. Teresa is going to double turncoat and save them or the guy with his finger on the trigger is going to be the one shot in the back or whatever. Cranks surrounding them in a tunnel? They're doomed! HERE COMES ERNESTO AND DEBRA! Surrounded by guards? They're doomed! OH WAIT, THAT ONE'S GALLY! Trapped on the roof of a burning building? They're doomed! ERNESTO TO THE RESCUE AGAIN!!! It's so repetitive and reliable that there's no actual sense of tension. This movie did that again, and again, and again, and again. that I'm tired of action movies doing, where the main characters get themselves into a situation, and there seems to be no way out for them, but it's clearly too early for them to die, so there's a beat, and then someone who hasn't been on screen for five minutes shows up out of the blue and rescues them. I enjoy the Maze Runner movies, but there's this. Anyone who makes it out alive will get answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze. To save their friends, they must break into the legendary Last City, a WCKD-controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all. Thomas leads his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet.
